Description: A private Vietnamese language instructor.
My name is Ngoc, I am 34 years old and, since my graduation from the Hanoi University, I have been teaching Vietnamese for 8 years. Besides being an experienced teacher, I am patient, understanding and happily customize my classes to your preferences. Using CD’s, handbooks, cards and pictures, my classes are lively, interactive and easy to remember.
In addition, I was born and raised in Hanoi so I speak standard Hanoian and will gladly explain Vietnamese culture and history to you.
I am looking to teach Vietnamese to students of all levels. Teaching time and modalities can be discussed beforehand.

I was lucky enough to see Ngọc with another student at a cafe and instantly saw she was a good teacher. I have studied with her for more than one year and she has helped me improve my level significantly. Ngọc is very patient and funny so the classes are never boring. She knows exactly what I need in class and supports me there. The most important thing is how she make me feel very comfortable and not pressured when speaking a new language. I can't imagine how hard it would be to live in Vietnam without her.

She's also very flexible with her schedules and will help you work as hard as you are willing to go.

I highly recommend!

I have had several Vietnamese teachers since I started learning Vietnamese. Ms Ngoc is the best. She is very helpful and able to customize the lesson to my specific needs. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to learn Vietnamese.

I studied with Ms Ngoc for 3 months and learned far more in that time than I have in my 3 previous years in Hanoi. Her lessons are very varied with lots of additional materials to supplement the text book and liven things up. The lessons are also very reasonably priced. I would certainly recommend her.

Okay, to translate.

I’ve been studying with Ms Ngoc for about six months, and I intend to continue studying with her indefinitely. I’ve been in Vietnam for about a year. Before starting with Ngoc I studied with a Pimsleur audio course (also effective, you should check it out), and I practiced communicating with people out in the world (including some Vietnamese friends). After starting with Ngoc, my Vietnamese has developed a lot, and fast.

One of the most difficult things when studying Vietnamese is finding Vietnamese people who know how to talk to foreigners. Most Vietnamese people have no experience talking to people who speak Vietnamese non-fluently, so they don’t know how to speak in a way that suits your level. But Ngoc has loads of experience with people from America, England, Germany, Japan, everywhere. She knows how to communicate simply and clearly.

Ngoc teaches according to your preferences. If you want to study reading, she’ll teach you reading. If you just want to practice conversation, that’s okay, too. Ngoc has explained a lot about the culture, customs, and history of Vietnam to me. Studying with Ngoc has made my time in Vietnam richer. I definitely recommend studying with her.
