Has anyone got Yellow Fever vaccination recently in Hanoi? All the places that I have been recommended either have stopped or are out of stock (and restocking is slow ... ""We are waiting for approval from Drug Administration for process import the vaccine. It will take long time. So we are not sure when new batch vaccine being available")
I need to send two big bags down to Saigon, the postal service is out of the question. Can anyone give me info/ advice on how I can send these bags to Saigon via train or airplane? Is there a reliable service that I could use?
My friends are flying into Ho Chi Minh city in a couple of weeks and they would like to go by train to Hoi An. The thing is the only trip we could find mostly went through the night which defeats the purpose of the train as my friends would really enjoy seeing the countryside. Has anyone had any experience going on a day time train from Ho Chi Minh to Hoi An? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
My sister is coming in a week (staying for a full two weeks) and I am considering doing a train trip to Hoi An, stopping at various places along the way (then flying back to Hanoi from Danang). Has anyone done this kind of a trip? If so what were your experiences and do you have any recommendations for travel arrangements? We would be stopping in Vinh and Hue for sure. Are there any other points of interest that you would recommend?
Does anyone know where you can catch the public bus to the airport? You used to be able to get on at Kim Ma, but someone told me that now it only stops down by the Daewoo. Is it still the number 7 or 17...or have the numbers changed as well?
TNH - A little help, please. I'm soon to be arriving in Ha Noi on my first trip to VN. A couple weeks later I'll be going from Ha Noi to Ha Giang. I'm having trouble figuring out my best transportation option. Don't want to hire a private driver just for me, that's expensive and piggy. I am concerned that the bus will be cramped (I am very tall), is that true? I've heard about an "executive bus" premium service of some sort, but can't find any real information about it. I've read that the night bus is dangerous, but it's hard to know how much weight to give those stories. Thank you!
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some agencies company here in Hanoi that are experienced in European travel stuff. Kindly response to this thread if you know any agencies, please. It’s urgent. Thank you.
Hello! I have read and have all the info I need to fly my dog to UK. I have read about international movers in Hanoi. I phoned them but they didnt speak english. They also didnt reply to my email to get a quote through expat finders. I also tried to contact the department of animal health to start to prepare billies microchipping and blood sample. They didnt respond to my email. Now Im not sure what to do as noone is responding to me. The only one who had is animal doctors in hcm but I need a company in the North. If you can send up to date contact deets and relevant address I will go straight to their buildings to inquire. Happy new year and cheers, Mary
Does anyone have a regular taxi driver and/or company they use that speaks decent English? I'm trying to find a cab company that can understand directions in English (for my wife). She will need to take several trips to the doctors (at Vinmec) and we live off a main road that is difficult to find/address does not pop up on a map. If it helps, we live off of Xuan Dieu.
I'll be in Vietnam from the 4th to the 11th of this month and was planning a holiday. I'll land in HCMC and stay two days at a hotel. Then I wanted to go to a cheaper beach resort, but now checking the weather forecast, it might not be a great idea to go to the ocean. I do hope that the weather will change, but it doesn't look like. Can you recommend some places in the city, please? Thanks a lot.
Hello Me and my boyfriend are currently doing a loop on northern vietnam sharing an old looking Honda Future Neo. We have made it from Hanoi to Yen Bai so far, and want to head to Lao Cai, Bac Ha, Ha Giang, Cao Bang and Lang Son to eventually return to Hanoi in a couple of weeks time. The bikes has a few faults (no brakes lights, one wing mirror missing, front mud guard close the falling off and makes it a very loud high pitched noise when driving) and we are getting a little concerned with the mountains roads once we will get to them. I understand this is a very old bike, even though good at the time it was made, not sold anymore (i really now feel we got scammed when renting them but it's too late now as we have left Hanoi already) I am looking for a bit of reinsurance and maybe...
I am thinking of making my own way to Ba Be National Park by bus and Xe-om. Has anyone done this? Am I mad. It is do-able in 4 days?
