So you've finally found a good Bia Hoi? You like the beer. The food is good. And then it hits you: Where am I going to seat my 1,200 most close and personal friends when we want to drink together?

BIA HOI HIEU BEO!

I've become quite a fan of this mammoth. The beer is Bia Ha Noi, not too bad. But it's the food that I keep coming back for. Lac Rang peanuts to start (I can't get into those boiled ones). But it's the beef dishes I've tried here that really get me.

The top of the list is actually the top of the list, at least under the beef header. (The name washed off my hand where I wrote it. I'll add it here soon. OK: it's Bo sot tieu den) It's good sized slices of beef cooked in a garlicky, black peppery gravy and served with four little deep fried rolls to sop up the gravy. Don't tell my cardiologist, but I've actually had this three days in a row before.

Also the Mi Xau Bo is quite nice, with more than your average number of vegetables added and a decent number of mushrooms that add a nice touch.

Add to this a staff that is attentive without being intrusive. And I've never had a problem with the bill. They are even patient enough to wait while I stammer through ordering in Vietnamese. Well done.

Don't be put off if you arrive at the peak of happy hour and there are bikes lining the front, they've got much more room out back. I've never not been able to find a table.

Best of all, seating for your closest 1,200 friends!

Okay I go here at least 2x a week with my wife and Father-In-Law for beers and great food. The khoai tay chien(butter fried french fries) taste great as well as the muc chien bo toi(squid fried with butter and garlic). I'd also recommend the bo sot tieu den(beef cooked in a gravy pepper sauce) is heavenly and they have great choices for lau (hotpots)!! I like their lau gau bo (beef hotpot)... the beer is hella cheap!! only 6,000 VND per cup of ice cold bia-hoi!!!! what more can you ask for?? :D

Hey this place is great.
If you like cheap beer, delicious food, friendly people, cross-cultural-having-a-bit-of-a-laugh, nice vibe and smiles.
If you don't, perhaps you should avoid it.

had some good tender beef in sauce there (70k vndfor 2) and good salad of "mien"(40k vnd). Besides that, it looks like your average gigantic beer hall.
