Xôi (sticky rice) is a popular food around Asia, which becomes especially sticky when steamed and provides a greater amount of lipid, compared to normal white rice. Xôi can be eaten itself only but is commonly combined with things such as vừng (sesame), chả (pork sausage), trứng (egg), giò (pork hash), or gà (chicken). Generally, xôi is served for breakfast or as a late night meal in Vietnam.
