I don't know where to begin with this place. It caught me completely by surprise. Just came out here looking for somewhere cheap and simple to eat, and I've left feeling this is going to be a future hot spot.
It's a new looking restaurant on Food Street. I haven't noticed it before. It's small inside, but as you can see from the photos it's actually very nice.
Anyway, the food... Wow.
It's all Vietnamese, but it's one of those rare places where everything is done so well and with a different spin on it to the traditional way. Every dish blew me away. And it's super cheap too. 4 dishes, two deserts and a beer came to 160k.
We started with a banh ram it dau xanh tom (kind-of like banh pho on cracker). Very unique. Great texture and delicious.
The Banh nam (banh cuon with meat and mushrooms in banana leaf) was scrumptious.
I then had the best Bun bo Hue I Have ever eaten.
The Bun thit nuong was great too, with the meat being cooked in a teriyaki style.
For desert we had che khoai tim and a che with ginger and balls of something yummy.
Service was a little slow, and they were out of one of the deserts, but I'm still giving this place 5 stars as it really stands out as one of the best eating experiences I've had in Hanoi in recent memory. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Very nice place that has recently opened on Food Street (about a month ago apparently). I recommend trying EVERYTHING and as stated below, it will not set you back a fortune either.
You can choose to sit on the floor on the second floor or just head on up to the third floor for a "sit down table" setting.
The decor is crisp and bright (newly painted) so who knows what 6 months of Hanoi's humidity will do to it. In any case, Hue food is a little sweeter than Hanoi food so if you fancy a little change on your palette this might be the place for you.
Just one caveat, it is not the biggest place in the world so for large groups you might be a bit pushed or you could just try taking over the entire second floor!

I had lunch here today as I have passed it a few times and wanted to try Hue style cuisine. The entrance seems to be the heart of the place with the kitchen and food prep area but as already posted there are two further floors to this quaint eatery, one is a Japanese style sit on cushions on the floor and the third floor is back is adult sized tables albeit not a lot of them. Ordering and food appearance was very snappy and I choose the “Ram – It” cake with shrimp (that what is says on the menu!) and the seemingly staple item of Bun Bo Hue. Both items were seriously delicious and there was nice chilli oil as a condiment. Although I am not familiar with some floating items in the soup but still it tasted great but now I know Bún bò Huế!!

I will come here again and will drag people along to have more Bún bò Huế!

I like this place a lot as it is very easily accessible whenever I have a craving for Hue food. The other Hue restaurants in Hanoi seem to be scattered all over town and are not so convenient to get to.

The food here is not truly authentic but it is quite good. I also like their staff a lot as they are very genuine and helpful. The prices are also very reasonable compared to most other restaurants in town. They have this funny drink called “Hue lime juice” and it’s basically a normal lime juice with 10 times the amount of sugar. Most of the small dishes are quite good but unfortunately the bun bo Hue is not great. I’d recommend the bun thit nuong instead as the main course as it’s actually quite nice. For desserts the banana cake is very decent.

This place came out of nowhere! I can't believe how cheap and how great it was. My friend took me here and I was not expecting to be so pleased.

We sat upstairs and enjoyed about five of the different dishes, as well as dessert and a few Bia Hanoi. Overall the service was great, the food was incredible and like I said, great value.

I will be going back on a regular basis.
