This gem of a museum is barely trafficked, especially when contrasted to the bustling Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum/Museum complex. That is because the exhibits impart the knowledge that HCM did not act alone, but instead came from a multifaceted revolutionary movement that was large, diverse, and internally dynamic. The photocopied portraits of martyred revolutionaries in the upstairs galleries are almost unbearably touching. Downstairs, memorabilia from the American War include the chassis of bombers, improvised weapons, and hand-stitched handkerchiefs presented to HCM. Some of the more fragile items in the collection are yellowing with age and curatorial neglect, adding poignancy to the feeling of unrealized futures. A visit here will bring Vietnamese political history into deep focus.

Fantastic: Excellent, well-documented and preserved photographs and relics of the past. Information is also in English. Walking through the rooms is like walking through a visual history book. This museum ALWAYS seems empty. I've been here five times and had the place to myself.

Note: Museum closes down for lunch and you will be rushed along and reminded every few minutes that the museum is closing. This is one must-see museum for any resident and out-of-town guest, gives balance to historical perspectives.

The Museum of the Vietnamese Revolution is one of the most unique places I've been too in Ha Noi. There are fascinating exhibits and artifacts associated with important historical personages who keen observers will recognize from many key Ha Noi street names.

A most educational and informative place. Highly suggest a visit for ex-pats, travelers and serious students of Vietnamese history. Great to combine with a visit to the History Museum.
