One of our first purchase in Hanoi: true big mellow feather pillows !
Specialized shop with only feather products, good fabric, fair price. What to ask more ? PS: not easy to find in a non retail small street
Cant agree more with the first reviewer.
If like me you are used to cotton feather bedding, this is the answer to all your Hanoi nylon foam nightmares.
I wont go into prices and range as the website has everything you need to know, including a conversion table where you put in the size and constitution (feather / down ratio) of what you want (pillows, duvet, quilt) and it gives you the price in VND delivered to your door. Its not transactional website but drop them and email and they deliver and collect payment- I got my winter duvet and feather pillows in 48hrs, perfect. I intend to visit the shop soon and scope the summer bedding options.
Great service and great product. To put it in perspective the only other place I found suitable bedding are the shops in Vietcom towers, where a feather / down duvet was 3Bn VND – Nuff said.
I found this company through the question thread http://newhanoian.xemzi.com/en/aska/answers/qid/1396 and was so excited to look at their website and see exactly what I was looking for (basically something out of the US brand The Company Store) for decent prices.
I went in and asked if the shop assistant spoke English. She said no so we resorted to hand gesturing about the various display models and using my basic Vietnamese for colors and sizes, but then it turned out she was just being shy and her English was absolutely good enough to cover what I wanted -- which was three single duvets/comforters (100% down in 160x200 for vnd 1,850000) and one double (200x220 for vnd 2,312,000). They'll be delivered to my house in a week and no deposit was required.
The only hiccup was that the website advertises a rainbow of color choices, but when I asked about red, I was told they were finished and not making more. Then she changed her mind and said the double was available in red (they had only one).
Besides varying grades of down/filler, there are also a variety of pillows and cushions available - the pillows are a lot cheaper than Dunopillo in the Hanoi Towers and have more options regarding the hardness of the filling.
UPDATE July 2011
I still think this place offers great quality, but be aware the prices
have gone up considerably since my initial review.
A 160x 200 100% down comforter/duvet cost 1,850,000. The price is now
4,415,000. For 200x220 the old price was 2,312,000 and the new price
is 5,815,000. Even with inflation, that is a substantial increase."
