wow wow wow ! I love this place and Mr. Pham Bang !
In the winter, I wanna come there every days. My favorite is Chi Ma Phu ! But Banh Troi Tau and Luc Tau Xa are all ok, too ! The quality is the best in Hanoi. In the cold weather, take a hot bowl and eat them, and drink the water as well... u will feel warmer than ever... fantastic... I dont care bout how does it look, cause its exactly wat I was finding on the street ! And the price is good to come over and over again !

Ohhhh: I've never noticed this tiny, non-descriptive, anonymous space before. Who would, no sign advertising anything, just a bunch of people sitting inside and outside on small plastic stools enjoying one of three main dishes.

Ahhhh: No wonder. This eponymous place (owner is no other than actor Pham Bang) "cafe" is only open in the winter from 3:15pm-11pm.

Mmmm: Enjoy one of three, wonderful sweet "soups":
1) Banh troi tau
2) Chi nha phu
3) Luc tau xa

We had a small porcelain bowl of warm ginger-like tea with two sweet dumplings inside, one filled with roasted sesame, the other shredded coconut. A great treat on a cold Hanoi day.
