This place won't suit everyone but for the guy who's a seasoned gym rat and can't afford to pay top dollar for the "western style" gyms it's as good as you'll get.

It has more equipment than you can shake a stick at and enough weight for most with the dumbells topping out at 100lbs, the seated row machine however only has about 130lbs which just doesn't cut it. Also the a lot of the cardio equipment is old and a bit temperamental and the rowing machine is completely knackered.

As I said it's not too clean. Most guys will work out without tops and no one uses a sweat towel. Most people are friendly though and will offer a spot. The toilets aren't exactly clean and I was a bit uncomfortable using the showers.

Any negatives here though just seem insignificant when you consider it's only around $2 a session or $11 a month. I've been to some of the clean hotel gym's such as daewoo which cost over 10 times more and have found them to be pointless as they lack equipment and heavy weights.

This review is only on the swimming pool and it's facilities, I have not ventured into the gym here.

The price has now gone up to 60K VND to use the pool, which while not breaking the bank, does seem to be getting a tad expensive for what you get, but overall still acceptable given the limited number convenient swimming pools around.

It is a 25m heated indoor pool, so ideal for using year round. It is a bit old and showing signs of that age, but still a reasonable place to go. Unfortunately if you are here for exercise rather than pleasure it does have a couple of little problems.

The first is that it is what I guess you'd call an old design of pool, where the water does not freely run over the edge of the pool, rather the wall is a few inches higher than the water level. This means that there are quite a lot of waves bouncing around, which makes swimming a little more difficult.

The second, is that there are no marked lanes, so if the pool is busy swimming lengths can be a little tricky.

Neither of these problems are the the end of the world though, and with a little bit of timing on your lengths and a bit of course changing, you can normally go back and forth and not have to stop completely.

The water is a little on the murky side, but not so bad that I'm concerned for my health or anything.

The changing facilities certainly are showing their age, just a row of showers and a couple of plastic stools knocking around, but again this is all bearable.

The one thing that you have to be very careful with in this place is that both in the showers and to a lesser extent around the pool, if you are not walking on the rubber matting, the wet tiles are like an ice rink, it would certainly be very easy to lose your footing.

This place is what it is, a relatively low cost place to come and swim year round, it could be improved in several areas, but is adequate enough that there is no need to ignore it.

The old Olympia Gym recently has extended their space with one more Gym floor on the ground right by the tennis yard and surrounding the Pool.
It is supposed to be higher standard with air-con, well equip...and not jam with people yet.
They are offering few options which include Gym with sauna and Gym with pool or Gym with both.
Paying around 2 to 3.5 million vnd every 3 months wont be too much with the service provided.
Good choice with reasonable price.

I'm more than 1 year training there, the gym at 3rd floor has been renovated recently with new running machines, and new carpet too. The daily price is increased 50k VND/day, monthly price also increased. They are now renovating another block to make a higher standard gym, with air-con, and of course higher price. The new air-con gym room might be small. Even I dont like changing rooms in this club but I think its reasonable to go. You can change your clothes at home right :), nobody in Viet Nam stare at you if you wear gym clothes.

The pool is clean, and I think around 25m long, but it's a bit dark. The water contains a lot of chemicals, so wear goggles.
I went in the morning so we were maybe 5 or 8 people swimming, which was really nice.
The temperature is how it should be: not too cold so you have to keep moving, and not too hot that you would feel like swimming in a bacteria nest.

The changing rooms are not private (no door between the man changing room and the women changing room), but you can use the lockers.

I will def go back, it's a great spot to swim in the winter.
