Two two things that I can add about this restaurant. First, there is another location of this restaurant on Giang Vo. Same great crab nem and bun cha. Second, they have honest employees. I forgot my bag there and an hour later when I returned my bank book and I Pod were still inside. I am one happy customer!

Quan Nem must be a place from the past. We have been there twice in the past month. They have the best spring rolls around. Not you usual cigar shaped rolls but rolls about the size and shape of dinner rolls. The deep frying does wonders to the rice paper. Ignore the surroundings, nothing flash, the rolls are great and the Bun Char is okay. The place is usually full of locals. 202,000 VND for two rolls two bun chars and 3 hanoi beers. Good value.
Will go again.

There is only three things they serve in this restaurant, I always order the deep fry crab spring roll and the Bun char, and always have to wait for more then 10 minute for food to arrive, even I always when in non pick hours, can't imagine how long have to wait for the food during the busy lunch hour.

The Bun char was typical come with stack of lettuce and herbs, the feature here is the crab spring roll, piping hot roll arrive to your table and slotted by scissor, it was greasy and smokey hot, it could burn your tongue if your'e not careful, I suggest to dips in to the cold broth to cool it down. Air condition place, decent meal less then hundred k with a fruit juice.

After having initially been introduced to Quan Nem in HCMC, I was thrilled to discover that this place has locations in Hanoi! Quan Nem's specialty is fried crab nem bun cha. The nems are pretty massive (I recommend 2 nem per person), and the crab meat is really fresh and actual pieces of crab, not like shredded mixed spring rolls. The waiters come around with scissors to chop up the bun and nem...and then dig in! I like this restaurant because it has a bit of a local feel to it, a little rough around the edges in terms of conventional standards of modernity (lighting, overall cleanliness, acoustics, etc.) but in no way inhibits my ability to dig into my crispy crab nem!

Small and darkish restaurant, tight seating, loud, sweaty, grease smell that haunts you for the rest of the day...

If you could get pass those, the nem is actually great, crunchy and tastes right. It's about the only standard/chain restaurant that has great Bbun Nem. And I have been alot of places.

It is a must try for anybody, foreigner or local. You might not become a regular (heck, I work at Vincom and I've only been there 3 times) but you might appreciate the good food.

P.S. the Bun Cha item is expensive and baddd, so just get the Nem
