Happy Pet Clinic is a great place to keep your animal companion healthy. The staff speaks good English and is very knowledgeable about veterinary care, especially illnesses that can effect pets in Vietnam. My cats were treated by the staff after being attacked by "the Nairobi fly." They would've died if it weren't for the treatment by Happy Pet.
Then, when I moved back to the United States, the staff did an excellent job of preparing my pets and giving me the knowledge about how to transport the cats to North America. I have two bouncy and playful cats thanks to Happy Pet.
I boarded my cat, Mr. Poe, with Happy Pet for the month of August this year. When I picked him up he was ill, malnourished (had lost a lot of weight), had sores on his ears, red rings around his eyes and soft poop. In addition, for the first time ever, he acted frightened once when I reached out for him. His kennel, which they had stored, reeked of urine. When I got it home, I took it apart and discovered bits of litter in it. They obviously kept him in the kennel at least part of the time.
He was obviously abused.
He was healthy and strong at the beginning of August before I put him in their care. When I picked him up at the end of the month, he was obviously ill.
He's mostly recovered, is behaving normally now, but still has soft poop. I've been hoping that in time, this would resolve without treatment. But I have to find another vet now. It's gone on too long. Who can be trusted in this city?
I trusted them. They'd been his vet for the past 4 years. But no longer. Something's changed there. They've become corrupt.
I've been so angry, it's taken me this long before I could write this review.
Warning! Do not take your pets to 'Happy Pet'! Your pet will be poorly treated and possibly abused it boarded! They do not care!
NOT HAPPY. My dog has been on a special diet the last five years for urinary bladder stones. Last year she had hot spots seemingly unrelated and they gave her a cream, she got better and has not had hot spots since. They mentioned she has urinary bladder stones and I told them she has had them for years and it was under control with a special diet, which I was buying from them. They did not tell me the stones were getting enormous 5-6cm. Two of them and they did cause hot spots because of urine not being eliminated. She stayed there three weeks while I was on vacation and was very sick when I brought her home, vomiting and diarrhea. When I brought her back to the clinic they showed me on the ultra sound how big the stones were. They did recommend another Vet who did the surgery. She is fine now but I cannot trust them and will not bring my dogs back there. Sorry but lack of communication and failure to take responsibility is the problem.
I can not thank enough for Ms. Houng and her team for their kind assistance getting my kitten from Malaysia. I was so worried about everything but my baby arrived safe and sound as she assured me. Thank you so very much!!!
I can not say enough positive things about Happy Pet. I have been taking my cats to them basically since they opened two years ago, and have always been impressed and relieved with the quality of care that both the cats receive but also their customer service. They're knowledgeable, professional, highly qualified, but gentle and empathetic. They really care. They are also well informed and experienced with pet relocation. I've had pets my whole life and have been to my fair share of vets but Happy Pet is a cut above and Hanoi is lucky to have them.
Side note: injured, orphaned, abandoned animals are often brought into Happy Pet, and from what I've seen first hand, no animal is ever turned away. They treat it and find it a safe and happy home. They truly care.
