I went to see lotus in as i thought 250 was a good price for a studio appartment. The staff were friendly and helpful. But if u are looking for a place for longer than one night this maybe isnt the place for you. Especially not more than a week.... And they rent only by month.
Errr the decor is ok. Nothing special but everything you need is there.. Apart from space.
First i looked at the room for 250$ this room may suit a small asian child but there was no chance that even i alone could spin around in the room. Actually the guy showing me the room remained outside so that we didnt get stuck whilst shuffling down the small mayb 30 cm space between the bed and the wall. The kitchen.... It was there but its questionable where u would keep any food as they do only provide a very small fridge. U can count out having ur mates around. I asked if there was a room with a window as this room was completely shut off from the light of day. Great fun ae.
The next room was 320 and had a window opening to the inside of the establishment. This is not exactly what i was looking for considering this is now more than 6500000vnd and still no sunlight? And er they did have a little more room . Maybe enough for one person to sit on a chair!
Te next room was 400dollars pm. It was considerably better but at this price the only addition to the room is an actual window. Great. So u pay 400$ to get a window and its the beautiful view of the wall of the next building.
Count me out. I didnt ask about the 500$ room as paying for this kind of accom for more than a couple of days is horrible.
Its a great idea if it was a buget residence. But it does come with quite a ridiculous price tag.
By the was i found a great spacious apartment. Big kitchen and window. Bills included 320$ so anyone considering this. I would go take a look for your self. I think you and the rest of the world would think the same thing as i dont believe anybody actually lives there ....yet... I wonder why.
Thanks TNH for this useful sources. I run very hard to take a look at so many apartments as I can before leaving Hanoi this weekend. I want to settle ready basic things before I come back next two month for a very busy working contract.
Among the apps I saw, Lotus Inn is the prominent. It follows the Western style business. The price is reasonable with services you take and definitely out of being on West Lake where is just 10 minutes away. The building is quiet and privacy. It has both speed wifi and internet cable.
Studio apartment is wide enough for coming with a bathroom and a living room including a kitchen. Room is well furnished and cleaned 3 times per week. One thing I trully like - they do the periodical pest control spray.
Staffs do not have good English skills. But it is not the 5 star hotel, all you need is they are being nice, warm, and helpful.
So, I came back , made the booking deposit and signed my contract this morning. Phew, now I can relax with my little time remaning here.
BTW, thanks previous tenants for your true positive comments. Will be your neighbor soon ;).
Having lived in Hanoi for a few years and rented a couple of houses I just wanted a change and some peace and quiet
I decided to stay at the lotus inn for a month and search for an apartment in another location I had sourced, that was six months ago
The staff at lotus will go out of their way to help you with anything that is within their means, the room is cleaned a few times a week and the apartments are quiet and other tenants friendly
The rent is very affordable but I guess if your the party type this is not for you, more for those looking to work and appreciate your privacy.
I'm still looking, but not very hard :) like it here
I recently stayed in the Lotus Inn on Quan Thanh for two months. The hotel is in a great location, about 15 minutes walk to West Lake and 10 to the Old Quarter. The rooms are maintained really well, with room cleaning up to 3 times a week. The broadband is fast and as well as wifi there is fibre optic. We were also able to rent a bike from the hotel. The best thing about Lotus Inn is the staff, they were extremely friendly and went out of their way to help with any queries we had and made us feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend this hotel, particularly for longer stays.
I stayed at Lotus Inn for a month and was very happy with my choice. After reading the other reviewers' comments it's clear that they come here thinking Vietnam is state of the USA or the EU, as they do not take into account that Vietnamese living habits are very different from the West (windows are not that important, noise not a problem). I found the service apartment and its staff very friendly, helpful and accommodating, and the place is perfectly OK for the price. There are large windows in the rental for $300, and the room was large enough for my needs (about 20m2).
The location in Old Town is very good and comes at an excellent price. Security is excellent, as are the facilities provided. I highly recommend it, especially for longer stays.
If you like Lotus Inn...
