I'm a 30 year old Japanese, currently living in Vietnam.
I was looking for a private tutor to improve and maintain my English skills. At that time, I found his advertisement by chance and I immediately made a contact with him.
I can strongly say that he is one of the best teachers that I've ever met.
In my perception, his teaching skills are extremely high and he has an excellent ability to make a suitable plan for each student. This point is very important for me in choosing a teacher,so I was impressed with his lesson when I first had it.Actually,in my case,he gave me many kinds of exciting activities that can help me to improve my various skills. For example, translating a Japanese comic book into English, writing an essay about a selected movie...etc
With his imaginative lesson, I've never gotten bored or felt tired despite the 3-hour long lesson!! He can satisfy my specific needs in each lesson.
In addition, he has a nice personality.
He is a funny guy and sometimes becomes like an actor when he shows the examples of how to use vocabulary appropriately.I'm sure that it's also effective and helpful for me to memorize new words or expressions. You should see and confirm it in your own eyes!!!
Aside from that, He has a wide range of knowledge and experiences, not only as an English teacher but also as a person. So talking with him and listening to his story are simply very interesting!!
There are so many things that I want to mention, but unfortunately there is no such a space...Anyway, I can assure you that he is a wonderful teacher and he is the person who can help you to improve your skills with a lot of FUN!!
I first asked Ryan to proofread my essays/compositions and he helped me with pronunciation and communication. I know my review would not be legit as a student but it is his qualities that led me to believe he’d accomplish as a tutor. He showed remarkable dedication, punctuality and took responsibilities. During our classes/meetings, he proved himself to be energetic, creative and fun, which, I think, will keep students motivated.
But above all, he was pretty resourceful and explanative when it came to pop-culture/perception/perspective kind of thing. That would definitely help strengthen your writing and speaking.
Keep up the good work!
Ryan is awesome people and teacher. I have near a month for learn together, he teach me English and i teach him Vietnamese. Just one to one and everyday in a week. When he teach me, i feel like a friend, everything so easy to learn and comfortable. I want to keep continue with him, but i have some work in Saigon some month, so that we can pause this program. I belief you will change quikly with Ryan.
Ryan, i belief you will become perfect teacher :)
I had some lessons with Ryan. When i came to his place, he always invited me some snacks and drinks. when i was tired, he took me for a walk by the lake and taught me something like vocabularies which met the eyes. And believe me, it worked perfectly. He was also the one who taught me Viet Nam's history, yeah if i were you, i wouldn't believe that, either. He's not only an experienced teacher, but also a good friend. Sometimes we hanged out, and i hadn't believed i could talk and share with a person who was not a Vietnamese, but he encouraged me so i made it, and the optimism and cultures were the things i have learned from him. he even taught me how to play cards and it felt so good as i won a such a good player as him a few times.
Right now i have to finish final exams at school, but i will catch him up as soon as i could!
Ryan is a friend as well as a teacher to his students. In the classroom, he looks grave and solemn but he is a man of sweet and soft temper. He sometimes appears rather old and sometimes young and bright but he is always, active and alert. He is like and respected by all who know him. When he finds any of his students lazy, he admonishes him, for he wants them all to do their work satisfactorily. He explains the lessons in much detail, and does his best to answer any questions possibly raised by his students. He is indeed a patient man; he continues to explain to his students the points that they do not understand until they are perfectly familiar with their lessons. He takes great trouble in correcting papers, and is very strict in giving marks. In the classroom, he always keeps the dignity of a teacher.
The greatest thing i learned from him though is knowing that i could do it; that i could write essays, have a voice, to believe in myself. MY last words is, in my side, Ryan, You are the best tutor ever!!!
