SCHOOLS ELITE is now seeking an ACADEMIC COORDINATOR..

The Academic Coordinator (AC) is responsible for managing the areas outlined below and reports directly to the Schools Elite Project Manager. The AC is tasked with helping to facilitate the development and piloting of the new Schools Elite program in Hanoi. This includes, but is not limited to, assuring teacher and student resources are available during the period covered in the contract. These duties reflect a general responsibility for the development, overview and improvement of the Schools Elite Program [including exams, pacing guides & resources as appropriate].
The AC is contracted to work 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work as necessary, such as special marketing events relevant to the program are planned.
-> Work with HR to recruit high-quality teachers and TAs
-> Design and conduct appropriate induction for teachers/ TAs.
-> Carry out formal and informal observations, with feedback, as required
-> Identify teachers who are underperforming and support them through a Teaching Development Plan
-> Plan and deliver sharing sessions/ workshops/ training
-> Provide daily support to teachers/ TAs, assist teachers to handle issues that arise, including difficulties with teaching, TA/school relationships, facilities, resources, and life in Hanoi;
-> Develop daily and weekly lesson guides (pacing guides) for teachers to follow;
-> Managing the assessment and reporting procedures very clearly and in a timely fashion, and reporting on student progress to schools and parents;
-> Work closely with schedulers of the project and at schools to make sure teachers are used most effectively in line with their skills and experience;
-> Providing clear guidelines for Teaching Assistants;
-> Organize twice-monthly meetings with teachers to establish a collaborative working relationship, discuss issues and brainstorm;
-> Act as liaison between teachers and other Schools Elite management/staff.
-> Develop the program in kindergarten, primary, (and potentially secondary schools) for both students and teachers
-> Developing an ongoing improvement process with regular course review and modification to better fit changing requirements from schools and Department of Education and Training;
-> Selecting appropriate course books and implementing curriculum;
-> Suggest an Academic Management Team/structure that meets the changing needs of the SE program while being cost-effective;
-> Liaise frequently with operation team to communicate issues and solve problems/ complaints in a timely and productive manner;
-> Work closely with Operation team dealing with regular and irregular inspection from MOET and DOET;
-> Test creation under the guidance and standardization of the company;
-> Resource creation/ management;
-> Emergency cover (when needed)
-> Act as Schools Elite Academic Marketing- Liaison to attend and help organize special events such as, Opening and Closing events, New school year assemblies at big clients premises.
-> Design material and select and train appropriate teachers to provide training to selected students and teachers of the partner schools to prepare them for International YL examinations, such as Cambridge YL exams, TOEFL Primary and TOEFL Junior exams
-> Design materials and train students at G5 to prepare them for Olympic English Contest
-> Provide suggestions for extra-curricular activities such as Bookworm club, team building activities, YEP
-> Assist in developing/preparing potential STs, ACs and a successor(s) for the AC position
-> Help design and organize or arrange academic workshops and/or level assessment for the Local District Office of Education and Training if required.
-> Complete development work projects as assigned by SE Director/ BOM
-> DELTA or equivalent
-> CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, other TEFL certificates may be considered
-> An YL extension (TYLEC, CELTYL, IHCYLT)
-> A BA/BSc degree in an academic subject
-> A clean Police Clearance Check
-> Must be a native English speaker or equivalent with evidence of high proficiency
-> Verifiable references (non-European, non-native speakers must have references that cover at least 3 years ESL experience for Work Permit purposes)
-> Ability to develop teachers
-> Excellent listening skills
-> Ability to work in a team
-> Strong work ethic
-> Excellent organising and planning
-> Great communication skills
-> Open to feedback

SALARY & BENEFITS
-> Up to 60 million VND/month gross salary
