Hi everybody, currently I am working for a University in Vietnam and I am applying for a work permit in Vietnam (I have a tourist visa at the moment). Please, I would like to know the following question: If a fail to get the work permit, will I loose my job or I can apply for business visa? Any help is highly appreciated.
I've been buying my Hanoi Beer from the same place for over ten years and they've been getting more and more slack about delivery. Sure, I understand, I used to live in an apartment a few blocks from them and now the house I bought is a few miles away PLUS they've recently moved even farther out. In short, now they quote a good price (155k) but they aren't meeting their delivery schedule. I need a new beer distributor. The guy next to Chua Lang sold me some Larue a few years ago but won't even talk to me anymore. Can anyone suggest a distributor reasonably close to Chua Lang, Dong Da? I buy five cases of 450s at a time but I guess I could increase that to ten if necessary.
I recently arrived in Vietnam with my new Huawei P10 smartphone. I got it because it has a great camera. Unfortunately I dropped it right on the glass that protects the lens and now it won't focus for photos. New to Hanoi so have no idea of anywhere capable of organising repairs in the old quarter or tay ho. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Was wondering if anyone here has used a Vietnamese removal company? I have had a look at Crown and JVK, but the prices way too high for us modest earners. I have used Taxi Thai before, but seems that they only supply the transport and you have to carry everything yourself.

I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but I don't have time to conduct a search. I am looking for mens shoes size 45. I want a pair of black or brown shoes. I just want something plain(and boring). Nothing fancy. Just a plain pair of leather shoes. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Oh, I should mention that this is for Hanoi only.

I'll be in Vietnam from the 4th to the 11th of this month and was planning a holiday. I'll land in HCMC and stay two days at a hotel. Then I wanted to go to a cheaper beach resort, but now checking the weather forecast, it might not be a great idea to go to the ocean. I do hope that the weather will change, but it doesn't look like. Can you recommend some places in the city, please? Thanks a lot.
Hello, I have to make it here to hear your point of view on this terrible thing. You might question why. Long story but the main reason was I wasn't interested and told him to go away. He got pissed and hit me right at the traffic light off Au Co street. I called the police then. But when the cops showed up, he pretended to apologise. Even after that he still texted me nasty messages. I blocked his number and could have let this go. But it's not fair. I mean you guys are warmly welcome to this country and do you think this is proper? That guy is even opening an English school in Hanoi. My friends told me to publish his FB and let people know about this rubbish because if he didnt feel ashamed hitting a woman in public, he would be happy to be well-known on social media as well. I will ...
Could anyone tell me where international parcels get delivered to? I am waiting for a parcel right now and the tracking is saying that it has arrived in vietnam but the postal service that it has been send by doesn't have any official office here in HN. Will it be deliverd to the international post office nearby Hoan Kiem lake? Or do i need to be more patient and wait for someone to knock my door with my parcel? Is there any company that i could contact about my parcel to check when they will deliver it?
So my toddler son has put up with 2 years of having his privates pinched and grabbed by complete strangers in the street. What's with this?? At first I though it was a way of determining gender (dressing him in blue and brown doesn't seem to be clear enough). I know this odd behaviour has been inflicted on other Western boys too, and have heard rumours that it's some kind of good luck charm. Huh?? Is it only boys who have to go through this indignity, and is it only foreign boys? Please can somebody enlighten me, before the next person who does it gets their own bollocking in return.
