I am an British guy in the UK and I wish to sponsor my partner who is Vietnamese in HCM City to come and study in the UK. To do this he must have £10K in his bank account for about 2 months to show he can afford to be in the UK for the English language course. This is purely for the visa requirements. So it appears simple to transfer funds to his bank account, then before he arrives in the autumn, and after securing the visa, he can send the money back to me. He does not have a bank account here. Having spoken to him and read many threads on here, I can see it is not a simple request to move money in and out of a VN bank. We can prove that I sponsor him and when he gets formally accepted by the college we will have evidence this is where the money will be spent. So do ...
Dear community, I am a big coffee drinker but my fully automated coffee maker gave up last week. I wasn't worried, since I thought that Punto Italia is just around the corner to have it fixed. But I can't find Punto Italia anymore. Does anyone know either how to find Punto Italia or then, have ideas for good coffee machine repair. My machine is a Melitta Caffeo Solo. Thanks for advice, best, Fabian
I am 68 year old widower since my 40, I travel a lot to Vietnam and really like the women culture and food, can some one tell me what is reasonable age gap for relationship in my age. I am financially well secured for myself !
Heading home ... and looking to send about 10 medium/large boxes (probably about 15-30kg per box) of personal effects (books, kitchen stuff, DVDs, clothes, etc.), no furniture. Does anyone have any good experience of shipping companies that will do this (and not cost more than the contents are worth)? Speed is not an issue, 3 months by surface (sea) would be fine. I asked at the Post Office (at Ho Hoan Kiem), but they said VND5,850,000 (US$250) for a 20Kg box. That was the cheapest rate!
I teach Japanese and am looking for private space in Cau Giay or Tay Ho district, Hanoi. I have lessons occasionally so just want to use in short time (2 hours) once a week or 2 weeks. Usually I have lessons just for 2 or 3 people so small space is enough. But hope tables, chairs, wifi, air conditioner are equipped and it is quiet. Rooms in local houses are also acceptable for me as long as fee is cheap. (Some offices or buildings also provide temporally meeting rooms but their fee didn’t meet my budget..) Pls let me know if you can suggest a good place.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows where you can dispose of batteries responsibly? I've developed quite a stash over the year and was hoping I would stumble across a facility somewhere, but haven't found anything? Alternatively, are they of value to the rubbish collectors or anybody else? Cheers
I'm moving to Hanoi in November. Can you tell me which rental agents have given you exceptional service. I'm looking for a serviced apartment in Ba Dinh or Hai Ba Trung. I remember hearing about one agency to avoid at all cost - anyone remember which one this might be? Cam on!
My Vietnamese wife would like to have my surname, also we were forced to select a Vietnamese name for our daughter (the names we chose for her are sandwiched in the middle of the Vietnamese names so her name is rather long and jumbled). I wish to apply for Australian passports for wife and daughter, and naturally we would all like to have the same family name. I pressume that we would have to change thier names here first, otherwise they will put their existing Vietnamese names on the Australian passports. Could anyone enlighten me about the process of changing the names of my girls so that we all sound like one family.
