My Vietnamese wife would like to have my surname, also we were forced to select a Vietnamese name for our daughter (the names we chose for her are sandwiched in the middle of the Vietnamese names so her name is rather long and jumbled). I wish to apply for Australian passports for wife and daughter, and naturally we would all like to have the same family name. I pressume that we would have to change thier names here first, otherwise they will put their existing Vietnamese names on the Australian passports. Could anyone enlighten me about the process of changing the names of my girls so that we all sound like one family.
We are interested in selling our car here (2007 Nissan SUV) but have no idea what price to ask as we don't know much about the used car market. Anyone have any ideas on how to get a sense of used car prices? Are there lots somewhere that people go to in order to shop for used cars?
Hi! Does anyone have any information about working for Kinderworld? I am considering a position and would love any info on working conditions, provision of resources etc? Thanks, I would really appreciate any information about Kinderworld!
Hi all! I've been offered a job at Singapore International School in Hanoi but have since read alot of bad things about working at the school. I would appreciate anyone with experience at this school to give me their balanced opinion of working there. cheers.
Considering a job at Kinderworld Education Group. Wanted to check how Singapore International Schools are doing in terms of education quality etc. Seems like the last discussion was a long time ago, in 2012. The reviews were mostly negative. Maybe something has changed since then? Would appreciate new reviews from some teachers and other staff working there. Do you like your job? Are you satisfied? Maybe you have stories from friends and acquaintances who work there. Thank you!
Does anyone have any experience of general tutor for a primary school age kid (6-7), English speaking ( no Vietnamese), to teach English grammar and maths mainly? I have looked through the listings here, and most are English as a foreign language. Must be a house call - no online teaching. Thanks
i'm leaving straight after tet. i know villages around ba be where they would love to have my stuff for free but getting a fridge freezer on the back of an old 110 honda for a 200km trip seems a bad idea. If anyone knows any community nearer home [I am in Pho Yen, 50km north of Hanoi - everyone here seems better off than I!]. Repeat I only have motorcycle and quite a bit of heavy stuff.
I am going UK for at least three months and would like to leave some gear in store. if anyone knows of commercial or private possibility i would be grateful. nothing too valuable but it would cost me a lot to set up pots and pans/wardrobe/guitar/bike etc when i return. search showed no results thanks
Is there anyone who can recommend to me: 1. American company in Hanoi (any field is fine, the bigger is better). 2. Vietnamese company produces products for America, also prefer in Hanoi/the North (any product is fine, the bigger is better). This is for a filming project regarding relationship between America & Vietnam. Any lead is appreciated. It will be very helpful if you have direct contact with the person in charge. Thanks, Khuyen
Hi, I've done a search of TNH and the web in the hope of finding any kids karate/martial arts classes but haven't had much luck. There is a bit out their for teenagers but nothing for younger kids. Does anyone know of classes that will accept kids 5 years old? I'm open to any styles as I just want to get my boy in to it for the discipline. Thanks in advance. Scott.
Where can I practise traditional Vietnamese martial arts i.e., Nam Huynh Dao or Nhat Nam? Or Chinese Wing Chun (Ving Tsun) or Vinh Xuan Quyen? (Preferably a Vietnamese or Chinese teacher/master) Please provide full contact details. Many thanks!!
Dear friends, In two weeks I'll be in Vietnam and want to throw a party with friends (expats and locals). We'll have dinner first and after that I'm looking for a party place, from around 10pm to 1pm. Preferably something were I can open a tab for my friends or an open bar. I don't want my friends to pay them themselves. Does anyone know a nice place like a classy bar? Or is it better to go to a Karaoke place? . Thanks!
We are looking to relocate from Australia to Hanoi in December 2018. Not sure if we should bring our 10 year old Bordier Collie along or if we should consider rehoming her in Australia. Is it difficult to rent a place in Hanoi with a dog?
