Any direction to purchase a Water filtration system for the home? I am moving to a house for the next several years and want to increase the water quality of the home. Unfortunately I must admit to having very little grasp of Vietnamese and communication with a seller or install in English is of great importance.
At home I plug my computer into an adapter and a power strip, but it is heating up quite quickly. Although I have lived overseas a number of times, this is the first time that I have brought my computer from home. Wondering if there is anything else I should have between the power source and the computer cord plug. Any advice MUCH appreciated! Steph
The same people that I dont know are calling me a few times a week from a 06---- number. Its really fun cause they say "hello" in English and then dive in Vietnamese. I say "hello" in English and than am stuck cause I dont speak Vietnamese. I thought after the first few days that they would understand when I started to speak in English that I dont understand or speak Vietnamese AND/OR that they had the wrong number. They obviously have not. So, in an attempt to get my uninterupted mornings back (they calll really early) I was wondering if anyone can help by calling them and either finding out why they are calling me or just politely asking them to stop. Thanks in advance, Steph
Hi could anybody recommend me to a Physician who doesn't charge $60 for a prescription? This overcharging is just preposterous! I need to buy my anti-histamine ampules for emergency use. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
This is a SIFE project of our university. The SIFE project aims at helping the community by using business skills. We are planning to help the poor street vendors sell traditional Vietnamese handicrafts with criteria: -Good quality -Cheap price (much lower than price in shop) -Building business with attitude, no following, no bargaining With those criteria, would you like to buy handicrafts from street vendors instead of buying in the shop with much higher price? Can you give us some opinions about street vendors in Hanoi. Thank you very much.
At the risk of being black listed for entering this in the wrong place ... for the life of me I couldn't find how to add it to places. Border Police Museum, 2 Tran Hung Dao, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 11am. Small, old fashioned displays Post Office Museum, 10 Ha Hoi, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 11am also small
Anyone know the story behind the B52 in the lake near Ngoc Ha. I pass it most days and think WOW, but no one can tell me if the area was residential at the time of it either falling out of the sky or if it was moved here.
Came across an online keyboard at www.incks.com/en/vietnamese.html. As a student of the language, it looked pretty good to me. Recommend it to NH readers with the proviso that I'm not fluent or a computer whiz. Perhaps a native speaker teaching at one of the language training centers in town can comment.
