I'm a Japanese person living in Hanoi. My current visa will expire on 4th January so need to update it. I hope to get 3 months multiple tourist visa by visa on arrival. However, I cannot take flight so need to get visa by land this time. So far, the agents could prepare visa letters before I reentered other borders by land. I want to try the same way to get visa at Lao Cai border and have a short trip in Hekou this time. But most of visa agents don’t seem to support making visa letter for the immigration of Lao Cai border.. Anyways, I’d be glad if you share information or guide me the best way for this case. Thank you,

I just had few questions regarding my DN visa, I was working for a company that paid for a DN visa of 6 months for me. Until March next year. I stop working for this company because of a non respect of my work contract from my employer.Plus they actually didn't have a proper contract (legal). Can they cancel my visa in any way?
Hi all, I'll be moving to Vietnam next year to work. I'll be working for a local organisation who will organise my work visa. I would like my partner to join me, but we're unmarried, and we're both from the EU (France and the UK) Are there dependent partner/spouse visas? Many thanks!

Not really a question , But those working here illegally on tourist visa's . I think the guys at the airport are on to your short trips to Bangkok and are refusing you entry when flying back in country , So do take your most important thing with you in case they don't let you back in country. So question is have you experienced this or a friend has? Mistakes are common , please digest and correct as needed.......
Has anyone gotten a visa for Vietnam in Phnom Penh recently? I read in the forums from a few years ago that 1 year visas were available. I wouldn't mind getting one through Phnom Penh rather than getting a VOA letter and flying to Bangkok and back.
Does anyone know if you can bring a pet cat into Vietnam on a TOURIST visa? We're moving to Hanoi in late-summer but would like to come early (before work visas take effect) and bring our cat to stay for the interim. I'm getting conflicting info from different sources so was curious if anyone has done this successfully or knows the ACTUAL regulations! Thanks so much, Jeffrey
The company that I have been working for the past 4 years and I have parted company last week. I have recived phone calls telling me that if I don't continue to work for them they will cancel my work permit and residence card. How fast can they do this? Is there a grace period under labour laws of vietnam, where the employer has time to plan other visa? PROBLEM; my passport doesn't have a full page for a Visa sticker. Any help is greatly needed. Im British... Please help
Has anybody had any recent experience of applying and paying for a 3 year work permit recently. I have just been informed by a colleague, who is at this stage of the process ( I am not, quite yet) that the company we work for are telling her she is expected to pay $800 for her work permit via a salalry deduction , which will be repaid after 6 months????? It is the amount being paid that I ma querying here, not the company's ethics of promising to pay back after 6 months ( they might as well not even bother deducting this fee if they are genuinely giving that back after such a relatively short time. I have just checked http://www.vietnam-immigration.org.vn/news/view/how-to-apply-vietnam-working-permit-for-foreigner.html which clearly states the fee to be $320.
Hi All, I just want to confirm something - Do I need to get documents notarized before coming to Vietnam, or can I jut bring originals and get it all done in Hanoi? I'm from South Africa. Thanks so much for your help.
Can my employer cancel my work visa if I end the work contract early? What about them going to the police to prohibit me from working anywhere else? Also, do they have the authority to freeze my bank account? What can they do if I end the contract early? I've heard many horror stories but not sure if they're true or even possible.
