Anyone know a good place for nonsexual, nonexploitive massage...? I'm both old and old-fashioned...

There is 113 spas and salons listed in the Top Spots reviews, granted some are hair salons, but are are many reviews of spas/massage places where the massage is non-sexual (if fact, I don't know that there are any sexual ones in there...)

@Rupert: Unfortunately, you're wrong. Some funny reviews, though.

I am always happy to be corrected, however the remainder of my post and particularly about how useful the reviews in Top Spots, including that one, is accurate. :)

Right, I should have clarified my answer.

I just had a massage yesterday at An Spa. It was a little pricier that I had expected (545,000VND for an hour massage), but it was lovely. Really, though, I would have paid 3 times that much back home, so it is still a good deal! An Spa has a website (www.anspa.vn) and they are located at 21 Nguyen Phong Sac. Just a word of caution regarding finding the place- the street numbers on Nguyen Phong Sac are out of order and the street name changes for 2-3 blocks before resuming as Nguyen Phong Sac (the joys of Hanoi!). An Spa is located near the corner of Cau Giay/Nguyen Phong Sac, just south of Cau Giay. Just get dropped off by taxi on the corner of the street and walk south on the right hand side of Nguyen Phong Sac (you will see the Keangnam Landmark Tower straight ahead if you are walking in the right direction!). The phone number is 04.6297.7993, and you can even email them at info@anspa.vn. I went in as a walk-in, no problem, although I'm sure you could book ahead if you wanted to. They offer many different treatments and although not all of the staff speak English, if you don't speak Vietnamese they will bring out one of their English-speaking staff to help you out. I was served delicious tea while I waited and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Cheers!

There's one good and big,it's actually a medical center - Institute of acupuncture. The owner is a famous Vietnamese doctor of acupunture, professor of medical university.
There's no intimidating intimacy, no separate rooms while having massage. You pay 200k for 75min I think, 250 for 105min and they have also some VIP. So the idea is you can use steam room, sauna and after you go for the massage. You can skip 2 first and go for the whole 75 min of a massage. People say the masseuses are really good, it's not like some slack squeezing. I've been there and it actually was my first experience. This place has a very strong reputation. Highly recommend.
Oh, and after they give you some fruit, drink and chao)
The address is : 49 Thai Thinh,Dong Da. The other one is at 78 Yen Phu, BA Dinh, but I haven't been in this one. They're open from 8.30 till 10.30

Ansa Spa at Yen Hoa, Yen Phu, Tay Ho is quite good (just near the Hanoi Club hotel).

It is near where I live so I have been there several times.

Clean, nice massage and not too expensive but it does cater to westerners so the prices are higher than a purely VN place.

Write reviews, folks. Nobody will ever find this thread again, and the question will be asked monthly.
