After days of tending to a fever-stricken child, I've had lots of time to stare at cartoons with her while catching up on the under-rated art of mindless daydreaming. While traveling a mental path on memories of home, I suddenly recalled the Krispy Kreme drive-thru, which led to a more general wondering of whether or not a drive-thru window (for both bikes and cars) would work in Hanoi. Just curious.

For cars, probably... for motorbikes? well, as long as the ramp wash shallow enough.

People queing up at a drive through and they have a horn button just busting to get pressed? You would have to write down the order.

Persons on motorbikes can drive thru the always busy Trang Tien ice cream shop on (of course) Trang Tien street not far from the Opera House. Bac

people drive through doors, why not drive through windows too?

Problem with a proper drive through is you need ample space for the driveway that wrap around the store... which translate to a lot of space that you would have to rent... which translate to muchos money especially in the Old Quarter or anywhere with a population for that matter

Oh man, a motorcycle drivethru in Vietnam. You do realise what you're suggesting? A combination of food and private transport. Even on their own, both have enormous power to make people behave...well...irrationally. And you want to merge them in an unholy alliance?! Now that's a guaranteed fustercluck.

As long as there's grandstand seating and a bookie, I'm in...

This post smacks of a drive-by in itself.

noooo, it's just a post from a really lazy person. it would also be useful on bad hair days when i don't feel like being stared at for long periods of time. Most days it doesn't matter -- but once in a while, I'd like to just dash over to a drive thru and then run back home.

I suppose delivery service is the natural alternative to the drive-thru. or maybe it's really the krispy kremes i'm missing...
