There are so few reviews for english schools, whether for employment or for learning. Many people have way to much info on the subject, aka half man half noodle after dark so please post reviews of your schools so we can know where to send Viet friends and new people know what it is like to teach there.

Any update on this from anyone? Kinderworld are posting positions, and the reviews so far are from the parents perspective. Has anyone been a teacher there?

I have not worked there, so I won't be writing a review. However I do have some experience dealing with them, so this is what I have seen and heard;

I interviewed with them about a year ago, I didn't get the job because it was for the very youngest children and they preferred a woman, or at least a guy with a lot of experience, which I did not have. At the very least they are discriminate with their hiring practices. I also observed that foreigners are in charge of dealing with all of the foreign teachers, this goes for SIS the partner primary, secondary and high school.

One of my former coworkers taught at the SIS division. He had nothing horrible to say and was also paid in dollars. I got the impression that he generally enjoyed his time there. He also had several advanced degrees, a lot of experience, and was a teacher who took his job seriously.

So that is the good, I have also heard a few bad things, albeit none from anyone who actually worked there. They have (especially the kindergarten) been described as being a "Mickey Mouse" establishment. I know of one foreign family that moved their child out of the kindergarten because it wasn't exactly what was advertised. If this is true (again I have no concrete evidence to support this) it may not be the type of place a teacher that would fit their high standards for hiring would require in a school.

In general, I would say working for them is a good bet and certainly better than the fly by night places in Hanoi. However, like any other school or center in Hanoi, it likely will not be like working for a western equivalent.

Shady management. I am so angry with them, and so are other teachers. They hire really motivated people, but new teachers soon find out about the poor management. I really hope they change, cause potentially it's a good school, but not looking after their staff is biting the hand that feeds them.

Below average to poor management is very common here in VN.

Yes, it's frustrating.

Considering a job at Kinderworld Education Group. Wanted to check how Singapore International Schools are doing in terms of education quality etc. Seems like the last discussion was a long time ago, in 2014. Maybe something has changed since then? Would appreciate new reviews from some teachers and other staff working there. Do you like your job? Are you satisfied? Maybe you have stories from friends and acquaintances who work there. Thank you!
