Laptop computers. Is there a reputable store that sells them in Hanoi if you aren't a registered business? Does anyone have any recommendations?

Sorry no answer just a suplimentary question. Does anyone know whether it worth buying a new laptop in Vietnam as opposed to back home (the UK) in my case. Any difference in price, quality, reliability etc.

I just bought a new Dell Inspiron 6400 here for roughly $1300 US, which is definitely more than it would go for in North America (can\'t say about the UK, though...). But seeing as it would cost just as much for me to hop a plane to a city where I could buy one cheaper than here, I can\'t complain.

I got it at a place called \"The 220\", at 38A Ly Nam De Street. Fixed prices (great -- I hate bargaining), the guy there spoke English... no problems!

They have the full range of Dells, Sonys, Toshibas, and I think Acers, too.

No particular recommendations on shops here, but it\'s definitely cheaper to buy electronics in North America, particularly if you go the Ebay route.

I had bought one Toshiba at BACH PHUONG\'s store. If you concern on Brand New, Hight Quality, Sealed, Original Systems Notebook, pls go to BACH PHUONG.They are trustable and reasonable notebook importer and distributor in Vietnam.

You can find them at
BP\'s store at 120 Kim Nguu Str., Hanoi.

Good luck guy.

Whomever posted those useful links to a couple of laptop shops, please re-post them as your useful answer was deleted by a trigger happy MOD just as I was using them and I can't locate the site again.

Despite the Mod Squads best efforts I found the link and the shop that had the computer I wanted. My wife spent two hours there getting stuffed about by the staff with computers that had been pre-opened and fiddled with. If they have set themselves as Administrators, which I'll find out on the weekend, one of the is going to eat the Laptop sideways.

I actually asked her to go to Tran Anh first but the web prices have no VAT so you are not sure what you're up for.
