This post is for those that are new to Hanoi, we want to make you fully aware of how some English centers are taking away from your pay.

1. If they are paying you $20 p/h and are taking away from you 500vnd for each dollar, then ask them to pay the current exchange rate of that day.... With the currency always lowering, that 500vnd adds up. If you have 50 hours a month, that's 500,000vnd. For the year, that is 6.000.000vnd.

2. Some English centers are claiming tax as they make some things very very confusing to calculate it as you really do not know where the portion they take is going to.

Cheers for the info.

And a lot of English centers withdraw tax from your pay but do not pay the tax to the authorities and pocket it.
