Hey guy
I’m moving to Hanoi next April and just want to do some homework on where best to live and look for apartments. We are really looking for somewhere out of the expat westerners bubble of Tay Ho. We would love somewhere predominantly Vietnamese with small alleys and beautiful streets with street food abundant and with fruit and veg markets close by and some gyms. Western comforts aren’t all that important either.
I have been looking at Ba Dinh, Dong Da, Cau Giay, Hai Ba Trung. What would you all suggest that would most fit the bill?
Also if there was some nice parks to walk around that would be a plus.

Cheers and thanks for the help

One really nice area is Truc Bach Island - it's middle class and very peaceful and beautiful, but not exactly cheap.

I just rented downtown (Hoan Kiem) near Thien Quang Lake - a very convenient area.

I use UMOVE, https://hanoiapartment.com , because Mr. Ken and his agents give such excellent rental services.
