I am looking for an acupuncture specialist. I have heard there is a really good lady here in Ha Noi that a lot of expats use but I can't get her address. Help appreciated.

I understand there are actually two.

The accupuncturist I used (& I think she's the more famous one) is Dr Tran Huong.

Dr Huong is at 8 Ngo Nui Truc (off Giang Van Minh, between Giang Vo adn Kim Ma) and can be contacted for an appointment on 04 846 0783 or 091 354 0907.

I cannot sing the praises of Dr Huong highly enough. I understand she specialises in pain management -- does a lot with treatment for migraines, bad backs and a variety of other conditions....e.g. fibromyalgia (for those who know what it is).... infertility - have heard some impressive stories...

I understand people come from other countries to see her. Met a Swiss couple on the plane into Hanoi a while back and while they were also here to explore Vietnam, part of their reason for coming was to see this doctor.

Dr Huong speaks English, French and Vietnamese. She has a small, professional and well-trained staff who assist with reflexology and massage (Dr Huong does the acupuncture herself).

Approx cost for one hour: $15-$20

NB - she is now at 80 Ngo Nui Truc

I visited Dr. Huong only once, but she was terrific and I felt very comfortable in her hands. However, with no insurance and a limited budget, I could not afford to see her often.

Dr Thuy is also very good and she is in the Zenith yoga building on Xuan Dieu 7191971 her office phone number is. I have been to both Dr. Huong and Dr. Thuy and each speak english (Dr. Huone also speaks french) and they really are caring doctors.

There were one or two negative reviews here for some of these doctors, but I'm disappointed to see that they have been removed. They seemed genuine to me at the time, but I still chose to go and see Dr. Huong. I've lost a bit of faith in THN because of this.

For my part I saw Dr. Huong who was as charming as she was effective. Very happy with the results, though I was charged I think $34 (something to do with long term acupuncture - forgot name - but pricey if you need 10 sessions, so I haven't been since).

People talk about there being no clinical data for acupuncturists, well, I have tennis elbow, so I did some googling and there are some well-cited academic journals with details of MANY clinical trials that show it definitely works for a number of areas (including tennis elbow, lower back and others). I'm more sceptical about problems with the brain (e.g. habits like smoking, eating etc.)

Hope this helps.

Hi,

What are the latest updates for Acupunture specialist? Does anyone know of these people still performing Acupuncture?

Dr. Huong is very good guys! Thanks for the recommendation. I have been having pain for over a year. After just one Acupuncture treatment, I feel so much better. It has been 3 days since my first treatment. Of course, I still have the pain, but not as before. I highly recommend her.
