We lived for three years in Hanoi and had a chance to try various dental places. We also researched braces options for my daughter. There was a place where the dentist had a degree from a long distance school, and one with a Canadian dentist who charged more than in the US for mediocre fillings. My relationship with Mozart dental was combative, and I believe I brought the dentist close to tears once. Yet I give it five stars. Why? Because we are back in the states and my daughter's braces, as assessed by a US orthodontist, are perfect. So while their receptionist drove me insane, and braces popped from time to time, I have to give them credit for excellent orthodontic work, at a third of the cost of US braces. We actually got a discount here because we came with the work done in Hanoi, and my daughter only needs the regular tightening. Thank you Mozart dental, and I hope you remember Sabina fondly, if not her mother...

We have just visited Hanoi and gone on a 3 day-2 night trip to Halong Bay, organised through Miss Ly. It was amazing!! Miss Ly not only came to our hotel and explained about the tour, she also brought us some fruit!
Often what you see on a website isn't as good as the reality, but this tour was even better than we expected, with so much included in the price - the kayaking, Pearl farm, cave, monkeys, as well as delicious food! Peter was an excellent tour guide and we were very satisfied with the tour. We will certainly recommend it to any friends who visit Vietnam as well as to friends who live in Hanoi. It is a family memory for the 4 of us which we will never forget! Thank you, Miss Ly!

Had an implant removed from my foot. They called a famous doctor from another hospital to come do it. People are very friendly and the place is very clean. The price can't be beat for this kind of service. Extremely happy.

West Lake housing were a pleasure to deal with! Their staff speak great English & are always there to help when needed. They found me a fantastic apartment that met all my requirements. I couldn't recommend them enough!

We worked with Ms. Van of Westlake Housing Group a few times now. For our Aug 2016 trip, Ms. Van inspected and photographed several places for us, and negotiated on our behalf so that we had a place meeting our requirements before we arrived. We employed the same strategy again in Nov 2016 for another two-week period in advance of finding a longer term home.
That’s when Ms. Van really shined! Over the second two-week period while my girlfriend worked, Ms. Van patiently took me around to many different properties. Ms. Van was really very helpful with working through the positives and negatives of each property in detail. Her support did not diminish at all over the two-week period during the selection period. We are happy with the result!
Although we did work with a different company for a day or two to see what they had for properties, it was so much easier to work with Ms. Van. Her enthusiasm, friendliness, and English skills are really great, and this made it easy for us. She continues to support us whenever we have to communicate with our landlady. We are really happy with her work, and highly recommend her and Westlake Housing Group!

This was the first time in my life that I walked out of a hair salon during the session. I showed my hair dresser a picture of a simple men's haircut. The guy asked me strange questions about which tools and techniques to use, which I neither know nor care about. He started with scissors, changed to a machine, and it became obvious after two minutes that he didn't know how to cut hair, which is unfortunate for a hair dresser. So I stood up and left.
I cannot recommend the place.

This school regularly spams Hanoi Massive and other sites. They will have 30 different jobs posted all in a row on the same sites. It took me a while to figure out they were all the same.
We interviewed with the company and were not treated very well. At the 1st interview Linh looked at our documents for a second and asked about 5 questions and then asked us to come back in 2 hours to meet a hirer up boss. When we told them we couldn't come back at 2 but could come late afternoon or the next day they got very rude and hostel, we felt like we had to defend ourselves. Linh said "well then I guess someone else offered you better pay. Come back at 2:00 or you won't get the job."
We choose to attend our other interview we already had scheduled that afternoon as the whole situation really rubbed us the wrong way.
In addition to coming back at 2:00 for the second interview we were told we had to do a free demo class at a public school with all the other new hires and they only kept the teacher that all the students "voted for" and like the best.
Lesh has called us several times trying to get us to come back despite us not coming back as they demanded. The offered pay was $20.00 an hour but we never got to see the contract.
I would try to work elsewhere if possible.

We interviewed at this place and it seems fishy. Not a nice place. They do not offer support or even a letter for work visa.
They had us do a demo lesson in a dungy small room with a just a couch and without "real" students. Just a HR person.
They offered us and another teacher we saw there just $17 an hour. We both walked out and refused to sign the contract and so did the other teacher. They would not increase the rate from $17 despite trying to negotiate a higher salary.
They seem to be a temp agency for public schools.

Ken is the man to see if you are serious about finding a really good place to live in Hanoi. What I really like about Ken is that he doesn't waste your time - he only suggests apartments that suit your style, and he doesn't try to put you in a place you can't afford. I rented the very first place that Ken showed me because he is so professional.

Following the advice of previous posts I decided to use their service for a blood analysis. I called for an appointment and although the operator did not speak english, she transferred the call to someone who did. After that, they were at my home in 45 minutes to take the sample and a few hours after I had the results both on the web page and emailed to me. The cost is just a fraction of what other "expat" hospitals charge. I have to say that I am very pleased with their service and undoubtedly recommend them.

Hoàng Sơn was my VNese teacher for one year while I was living in Vietnam. Son is by far the best Vietnamese teacher in all of Hanoi.
His background in linguistics and his successful methods of teaching tone and vowel pronunciation make the difference between Westerners who can speak but aren't understood, and Westerners who can speak AND are understood in Vietnamese.
Within months of studying with him I was able to travel thru the countryside and communicate with people in restaurants, hotels, home stays and attractions as my OWN translator.

I was very pleasantly surprised by Mr Dinh's hair salon - it's exactly the type of place you want to go if you have fine and/or curly Western hair and need a reliable cut or trim. I didn't get my hair coloured, so can't comment on that. But Mr Dinh took one look at my sample picture and knew exactly what I wanted - even put words in my mouth. He was careful in asking for confirmation that he had understood correctly and checking the cut carefully afterwards. He obviously has a ton of experience with Western hair as he cuts with confidence and not like the other nervous hair stylists I've had in the past. The price is reasonable, so even though his English is perfect, you know you're not walking into a place that is just trying to cater to Westerners for their money. Now that I've found his shop, I'll never get my haircut anywhere else - couldn't be happier!

Dont buy a bike there - the owner is friendly but totally unprofessional - not able to provide a reliable Service. My bike was broken all the time until I decided to go to a real Vespa Shop - the surprise was big - totally unsafe - so I had to change almost every part...

I been in Hanoi for 3 years and tried many Visa services, Mr Nam service was reliable, fast and polite. So far the best feedback I had.
He answered all my questions and also inquires from friends of mine.
