Hi, Can anyone tell me of a shop that sells Dai Viet Bia Den (black beer). Preferably bottles but I think it's available in cans as well. It's probably been staring me in the face but I can't seem to find it. thanks

Hi All, Just arrived in Hanoi and I'm thinking of buying a copy watch from one of the Watch shops in the old quarter. Can anyone fill me in on the going price for these? Or any other info would be good. A Rado was priced at 50$US How much do you think I might be able to knock it down in price? Many Thanks

Where in Hanoi can I buy unpopped popcorn? Not microwave popcorn but that old fashion kind that you put into a pot with a little oil, add butter and salt - yummy.

Has anyone been to the Khuc Hao Gym on Le Hong Phong (1B)? I drove by there today -- it looked like there may be two parts to it: 1) a gym w/a weight room which had a sign above that it was for the handicapped national team; and 2) an area that I wasn't sure was connected (but had the same address) that had tennis courts and... that's all I could see. Anyhow, wondering if anyone has used the gym here -- if so, what's it like? I really want to find something reasonable that has weights and aerobic equipment. I used to work out at Olympia on Tran Hung Dao, but I don't live over there any longer (and the equipment all started breaking), so I'm looking for something new. Any help would be appreciated -- thanks!

I have been contacted by a friend of a friend who wants me to strart giving him and his colleagues (8 adults total) after work twice a week English lessons (1h30 per class). I have six months of teaching English experience in Saigon but I was a volunteer so I don't really know the going price especially for a group class. Can someone please give me an idea? I have an XSat satellite TV box that requires a "smart card" - my current supplier is being flaky. Does anybody know of a good place to get these cards; how much are you paying?

Is it possible to "upgrade" the tourist visa to business visa if I have a visa approval? Or do I need to go out of the country and get a new visa at some embassy?

Does anyone know where you I can get hold of tickets for the Asia Cup (Football) matches being played here? I've seen a couple of banners advertising the upcoming Vietnam v Bahrain match with prices ranging up to VND100,000 - anyone know where they can be bought (if not sold out)?

Hello again Hanoians! I just found out that due to a personal emergency I am going to have to fly back home to Paris for a week or so. Wondering if you know of any good travel agencies or if you have any advice for last minute round trip flight to Europe. I called Vietnam Airlines and they quoted $1400!! That seems way to expensive don't you think?

So I though it would be a good idea to come here for three weeks and learn Vietnamese with my 5 yr old daughter (adopted from Vietnam as a baby) The lessons are going OK but only take up a couple of hours in the morning. My dream of leisurely strolls round the city is rather put on hold by a 5 yr old who can't take the heat so.. any suggestions for kid friendly activities? any recommendations for how to get into swimming pool. I contacted most of the big hotels and they either said no or wanted $30 a day which was out of my price range. Thanks for your help
