Hi I have just arrived in Hanoi with 7 month old twins, really need help in finding accommodation and a nanny. But my highest priority right now is finding baby formula and cots. Tom the 'roller' is currently sleeping on the floor. Have tried the Citimart under Hanoi Towers for formula, but they didn't have Heinz Formula and also tried Vincom towers for the cots but they also didn't have any. If anyone knows a nanny in need of work could you please recommend this post to them. Thanks

A while ago, I found out that a local book distributor called FAHASA has the sole distributorship of the latest Harry Potter, but I'm not aware of any book store in town named FAHASA. Perhaps some bookstore here will get their stock from them? Anyone of you know any specific bookshop which I can get a copy of the it? Thanks alot !!!

I need to find a job that pays well. I am from Chicago, and I am looking for something that does not require a minimum of a bachelor's degree! I will be moving out there in about a month, month in a half something like that. Teaching English would be nice, and I guess that there are online certification courses which are a breeze! So let me know what you guys think, and this includes anything in the realm of tourism too, I would really like that as well. Take Care! Hope to see you all very soon! Jess

We used to order beer from a distributor over on Lo Duc. However, they no longer carry Tiger -- can anyone recommend a distributor that carries the big bottles of Tiger? Preferably a place that delivers. I haven't had any luck finding any as of yet. Thanks!

My mom is coming to town and while I am at work she wants to look at some museums. Does anyone have a few good recommendations (other than the Ethnology Museum) of interesting spots?

I'm moving to Hanoi in September. I've been checking out vaccination advice but have a pile of conflicting professional info. I'm current for thyphoid, tetanus and hep A. I'm naturally immune to hep B. My original vaccine doctor said that's a good sign and to err on the side of fewer vaccines rather than more. i'm considering a TB shot. I would really appreciate some advice as to what the practical reality of living in Vietnam requires in terms of vaccinations. Many thanks.

Does anyone know about a place where I can rent cheap (that will be a small apartment) local style a bit outside the city, where they don't charge foreigners way too much? (And I really mean cheap, which also means low standard)

Where in Hanoi can I buy unpopped popcorn? Not microwave popcorn but that old fashion kind that you put into a pot with a little oil, add butter and salt - yummy.

Has anyone been to the Khuc Hao Gym on Le Hong Phong (1B)? I drove by there today -- it looked like there may be two parts to it: 1) a gym w/a weight room which had a sign above that it was for the handicapped national team; and 2) an area that I wasn't sure was connected (but had the same address) that had tennis courts and... that's all I could see. Anyhow, wondering if anyone has used the gym here -- if so, what's it like? I really want to find something reasonable that has weights and aerobic equipment. I used to work out at Olympia on Tran Hung Dao, but I don't live over there any longer (and the equipment all started breaking), so I'm looking for something new. Any help would be appreciated -- thanks!

Hello fellow english teachers! I have been contacted by a friend of a friend who wants me to strart giving him and his colleagues (8 adults total) after work twice a week English lessons (1h30 per class). I have six months of teaching English experience in Saigon but I was a volunteer so I don't really know the going price especially for a group class. Can someone please give me an idea? Thanks in advance!
