Hi All, I know this question has been asked a million times before. So I apologize in advance even though I have done my research to other questions. I was wanting to know if their was an easier way to send money back to my home country from Vietnam. In the past, I have had a difficult time with Western Union and MoneyGram as they allow money to be brought in. Unfortunately, these companies will not let money to be taken out of the country. Any suggestions?
Hanoians oi! I have officially moved back to chicago and miss my motorbike, not to mention the price at which I could've bought a nice used one in Hanoi! Is there anyway that I could get one shipped over here- what are the costs of shipping? Or, does anyone know where to find a similar Honda (general gear shifting kind- NOT the SCOOTERS!) in the states? Thanks so much. Missing many of you! Jessica-
Hello, I have a game of paintball coming up soon so I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy some paintball gear in Hanoi? Specifically some protective masks. I know that the place will provide masks, but my friends said that they are not very good and often fog up. Thanks in advance!!
I am 68 year old widower since my 40, I travel a lot to Vietnam and really like the women culture and food, can some one tell me what is reasonable age gap for relationship in my age. I am financially well secured for myself !
What are Vietnamese laws on prescription drugs like adderall or ritalin? Is it available, how does one go about getting a prescription. I have been off mine for a little but need a refill for some days i need the extra focus. Do the street pharmacies carry anything that would be an equivalent? Thanks
Hello! My family is spending the Christmas holidays around the Old Quarter. We're planning to attend the Christmas Eve mass at St. Joseph's Cathedral, but I want to know if at least one mass on 24 or 25 December in that church is in English. Otherwise, do you have any other churches for English masses that you'd like to suggest? Places to go to for touring are also welcome! Thanks!
Heading home ... and looking to send about 10 medium/large boxes (probably about 15-30kg per box) of personal effects (books, kitchen stuff, DVDs, clothes, etc.), no furniture. Does anyone have any good experience of shipping companies that will do this (and not cost more than the contents are worth)? Speed is not an issue, 3 months by surface (sea) would be fine. I asked at the Post Office (at Ho Hoan Kiem), but they said VND5,850,000 (US$250) for a 20Kg box. That was the cheapest rate!
Hi. My employer has threaten to cancel my visa that they got for me. She and I had signed for a probationary contract that's supposed to take effect on dec 1 2019, now when I talk to my employer she's offering a probationary period that we did not discuss before and not included in the contract. Consequently, I negotiated for them to honor the original contract we both signed for. And now, she wishes to terminate it unilaterally and cancel my visa. She told me to go to the immigration office but I refused to do so. May I ask your opinion, suggestions about this? Thanks for your reply
Here's our problem.. We are traveling to Cambodia 25-28 Sept 2010 and we just got our visas (B3) today. The problem is this passport of his ran out of pages. He is holding an Australian passport and he is planning to get a new passport tomorrow (Est TAT would be 10 days). How does he transfer the valid visa on to his new passport? What to do? We looked at the passport site of Australia and is pretty much crap and cannot provide any valid answers.
This country is a nice country. Unfortunately, many locals have been talking about the bad chemicals in the food that farmers have used to keep the fruit, vegetables, and meat fresh. Additionally, lots of food is being imported from China. One case said that some chicken eaten today is being imported from either the 1960s or 1970s. One case stated that they have chemicals to turn pork into beef. Another case stated some are suffering from sickness and death due to the harmful chemicals in the food. The last case heard was that in some restaurants, they were reusing the old hotpot water from other restaurants to save money. With all these food issues, many people have decided to not go to restaurants or buy food from local farmers. Of course, we wish that something was being done about a...
This is probably one for the follically challenged guys (like myself!) out there in our fair city. While indulging in my weekly head shave this morning, (yes, I do have some but not enough to make a Hanoi-style combover a worthwhile prospect),my trusty Remington Head shaver expired without warning and appears now to be an ex-shaver.So, my question is, where do I get a replacement that will give me the close-cropped No.1 I have become so used to? It doesn't have to be a Remington, but something reasonably robust that will do the job is required, pronto.Any ideas anyone?
Hello, does anyone know where I can find a Herman Miller chair in Ha Noi ? Or Vietnam if Hanoi is too difficult. I found one shop called KNH but then they never answer their phone and the shop always closed. If by any chance KNH read this, please pm me how to contact you because I know you have the chair I want. Thank you.
