What's the longest Visa I can get if I have a 36 month work permit? Can I get a Multi-entry Business Visa the same length as my Work permit? I'm employed as a teacher in Saigon.

Hi everyone - sorry if this has been asked before. I know there's a management visa + work permit you can get for Vietnam - for those of us without a Bachelor's Degree - if we've had 5 years experience in a management position in a company in Australia. I know that a letter from the Australian company is required but not sure what exactly it needs to say? Also, apparently it needs to be stamped and certified by the 'Notarizing Department' which doesn't exist in Australia - will a JP suffice? Tried to ask Australian Embassy but their position is that it's not really their problem.

3 year Work permit Two years ago I had a 3 year work permit to one company, then I got a new job and the new employer transfered it into their name. I am about to move to another company, but my present company is very reluctant to hand over my work permit. I want to know how owns it? It is in my name but has their name on it as well.

I am a US citizen and my wife is a Philippines citizen. We just found out that my wife is 8 weeks pregnant. Right now, we are planning to travel back to the Philippines in July so that my wife can give birth in the Philippines (where she'll be surrounded by her family and friends). I currently have a two year work permit and a one year working visa. We are in the process of getting my wife a spousal visa (employer taking care of this). My question is, do I need to get a visa for our child? What kind of visa would it be and for how long would the visa be valid? Thanks.

Anyone know when the Chinese Embassy visa office in Hanoi is going to reopen? I think it is closed right now for New Year. Also, any idea what hours they are usually open? Thanks

Sapa China border run possible? My visa expires on the 9th of February. We are planning a trip to Sapa with German visitors. My question - can I leave via Vietnam on that border and apply for a visa to re enter Vietnam in a day or so - does anyone know what the visas for China will cost going in - does the same cost apply for any nationality. has anyone got a three months visa for Vietnam via this route?

This might sound a bit complicated but lets give it a try I have/ had a legit 6 months multiple entry visa. Because my passport was expiring in less than 6 months I decided to apply for a new passport because I wanted to travel( you need at least 6 months to be able to travel to any country). (this I did after inquiring whether it was possible or not to transfer the visa from the old into the new passport). I was lucky to get the passport after a week. I was supposed to do the visa transfer at the immigration office, but there I was told I got the wrong visa so they couldn't do the transfer. They also didn't really seem to know what I could do. It turns out to be that I got a 6 months multiple entry business visa in Phnom Penh. This while I am not doing really business here. T...

My three month business visa will expire in March. I have already extended once already. It will be time for me travel to one of Vietnam's bordering countries. Then I can enter back into Vietnam. I was wanting to know how long I would have to leave Vietnam before I can enter back into Vietnam? Any recommendations on places to travel? When entering into Vietnam, what is the process to enter back into the country with a 3 month business visa?

When I arrived to Hanoi, I did so on a three-month business visa (multiple entry). It will be expiring at the end of December and so I need to extend it. Call me silly, but I like to be prepared for everything. In regards to my visa extension, I'm wondering what the likelihood of it being denied is. Are extensions simply "rubber stamps" or is there a possibility for it to be denied? What are some reasons that it would be denied? What are the inner-workings of the process i.e. how is an extension approved and who does it? Thanks in advance for any help.

Of course this is not advisable, but I am curious. My extension stamp has scribbled across it in blue biro the date it expires. It looks like a child has written it. Do these dates get logged on some central Vietnamese Visa Department system or is the record of the date only recorded in my passport? I could so easily change a '1' to a '4' and avoid the trauma that is visa extensions for another few months!

Visa Issues. My wife and I have lived in Hanoi for 3 years. Every 3 months we fly to Thailand and have a vacation. We are tired of this. We want a 12-month visa. Can we still get one from Cambodia? Just go and pay our money and come back. Is it that simple? Any way we can get an extention in Hanoi without leaving the country? Thanks for your help. Can you send me an email if you have answers? Hello everyone, My friend and I were visiting Hanoi for the holidays and an unfortunate event happened to us. A passing by motorcyclist yanked her purse and made away with money and items but most importantly was her visa application reciepts. That day she went to reapply for a student visa and paid 160 usd for it to reenter the us for spring semester for next year when we return. My question is does she have to pay the 160 usd again or can she go back to the office with identification and they will give to her even tho she does not have a reciept.

I have seen a lot of topics on visas and visa runs, but did not find an appropriate answer for my case, so again the great wisdom of our online community is called upon. I am a student doing an internship at one of Hanoi's universities. Before I came here in September, I was granted a three-month B1 visa. Although I was slightly confused about getting a business visa for people wanting to work at the supreme court etc., I did not pay much attention as I supposed the university was actually knowing what they were doing. As the expiration date of my visa is in December, it was about time to apply for an extension; again the university handled all paperwork. I was told today that I cannot get an extension, since I do not have a work permit (mind, I am a student and don't 'work' in th...

Hi, does anyone have any experience in regards to how the authorities will handle a work-permit application if the health-check shows a positive HIV result!? Will one be able to still get a work-permit, or will they refuse it!? Any insight, or experience is appreciated.
